The microwave is something millions of  people use daily. They use it to heat their food, to defrost meals quickly or to prepare something in a couple of minutes. If we were to judge it by the time people save by using it, it would probably win the first prize, but we will be analyzing it by the impact it has on the health of a person. The first thing we can tell you is that its advantages cannot make up for the effects it has on people’s health.

The damaging effects on food

When you prepare or heat something in the microwave, you can destroy all the nutrients and vitamins they contain. The molecules from your food rotate rapidly, which creates molecular friction. This is how the food heats up. Moreover, the molecular structure from the meal changes and it causes the loss of nutrients. Thus, what you are eating might satisfy your stomach, but will not offer your body what it needs.

Furthermore, the microwave destroys Vitamin B-12 from different products, such as raw beef and milk. This vitamin has a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and the nervous system and  in blood formation. Low levels can be related to symptoms such as fatigue, depression and poor memory.

In addition, food that is heated in plastic in the microwave is very dangerous because carcinogens can be created inside the meal. Plastic releases toxins and then absorbed by the food and then eaten by people.

These are just  a few reasons why people should avoid the microwave. Fortunately, stop using it does not mean people will have to eat cold food. The stove is the best choice, whether we are talking about the gas or the electric one. It does not cause any changes inside the food and is very safe for all people. For these reasons, people should think twice before they heat or prepare their food in the microwave. Although it takes less time, it takes away vitamins and nutrients necessary for the body and gives back risks and problems.
